Farexchange will be running a series of training and development programmes.
Travel to Learn - is a concept through which the farming and food industry can gain an insight into how innovative businesses in other parts of the UK and the world operate. If you are interested or have an idea please see our case studies for examples of recent Travel to Learn programmes.
For RDPE/Defra eligible farmers, the cost of the programme will be subsidised by 70%.

Walk the Supply Chain - A one day event with all partners in the supply chain participating in informal discussions to help raise everyones awareness of each others roles, starting on farm and including visits to each link such as processors/manufacturers and retailers.
Bridging the Gap – a one or two day supply chain team development event, including bespoke facilitated sessions to review your supply chains strategy, aims and objectives plus fun tasks and activities to stimulate better team working and communication.
Director Development
This programme will improve the skills and effectiveness of directors, officers of the board, company secretaries and senior managers. A range of courses can be offered and includes:
- Directors Roles and the Responsibilities - Individual and collective duties and liabilities of FCB directors.
- Communications - Communicating and making a case professionally in meetings, presentations, and one-to-one discussions.
- Strategic Business Direction - Fulfilling the board’s responsibility
for strategic analysis, planning and direction. - Improving Board Effectiveness - Improving the workings of the board by building better processes and a balanced team.
- The Role of the Chairman - Leading a board and maximising the
contribution from each director. - Finance for non-financial directors - Understanding and interpreting key directors reports and documentation.
- Leading and achieving change - Instigating and leading major change projects using appropriate techniques, policies and approaches. he Cha
- Strategic Marketing - Marketing the business: deciding where to compete, how to create a market ‘position’ and develop the marketing mix.
If you feel the whole board would benefit from aspects of the programme then a tailored course can be developed, covering the specific topics identified. This will be designed in conjunction with the board following a brief assessment of their development needs.
All the courses are designed to be interactive, and encourage you to draw on your own experiences, and get involved with the tutors, speakers and
other delegates.
